Six Quotes From Six of Crows

October 17, 2015

Last Sunday, I finished reading Leigh Bardugo's masterpiece that is Six of Crows, and to say I loved it is quite the understatement.  I was completely blown away with six all too amazing characters to love.

My review's in the making, and should be up in a few days' time.  Until then, I thought I'd share six Six of Crows quotes.  The entire book is filled with quotable words, but here's just a handful to pique prospective readers' interests until they have the privilege of claiming their own copy.

And . . . I'm not sorry to say most of these are Kanej quotes (Kaz + Inej).

Inej would find her own way in.  The rules of fair play among the gangs were from Per Haskell's time.  Besides, she was the Wraith - the only law that applied to her was gravity, and some days she defied that, too.  (pg. 20)
"I do like you."

"What was that?"

"I do like you," he said angrily.

She beamed, feeling a well of please erupt through her.  "Now, really, is that so bad?"

"Yes!" he roared.  (pg. 240)
Jesper just grinned and whispered, "Well, we've managed to get ourselves into the most secure prison in the world.  We're either geniuses or the dumbest sons of bitches to ever breathe air."

"We'll know soon enough."  (pg. 282)
"When we get back to Ketterdam, I'm taking my share, and I'm leaving the Dregs."

He looked away.  "You should.  You were always too good for the Barrel."

It was time to go.  "Saints' speed, Kaz."  (pg. 333)
She'd laughed, and if he could have bottled the sound and gotten drunk on it every night, he would have.  It terrified him.  (pg. 402)
Maybe it was because his back was to her that she could finally speak the words.  "I will have you without armor, Kaz Brekker.  Or I will not have you at all."  (pg. 434)

This book is excellent.  Read it.
